chloropsia

chloropsia
The term chloropsia comes from the Greek words chloros (green) and opsis (seeing), and translates to 'green vision'. It is used to denote a * chromatopsia (i.e. a temporary aberration in colour vision) in which all objects and visual stimuli appear to be tinged with green. Chloropsia is usually classified as an *entoptic phenomenon. Etiologically, it is traditionally associated with digitalis intoxication. The term chloropsia is used in opposition to the terms *cyanopsia (blue vision), * xanthopsia (yellow vision), *erythropsia (red vision), and *ianothinopsia (violet or purple vision).
