- non-ictal hallucination
- The term non-ictal hallucination is indebted to the Latin noun ictus, which means blow or thrust. In biomedicine, the term ictus is used to denote a paroxysmal epileptic seizure. The term non-ictal hallucination is used to denote a hallucination that is not attributed to a seizure disorder. The term is used in opposition to *ictal hallucination.ReferencesSowa, M.V., Pituck, S. (1989). Prolonged spontaneous complex visual hallucinations and illusions as ictal phenomena.
